Windows® Marketplace for Mobile is a storefront for customers to find and purchase mobile applications designed for a Windows® phone running Windows Mobile 6.5. Windows Marketplace will support Windows Mobile 6.0 and 6.1 as well as Windows Mobile 6.5.

Windows Marketplace comes pre-loaded on Sprint devices, such as the Samsung Intrepid, which uses Windows Mobile 6.5. Customers can access to the Windows Marketplace for Mobile with a Windows Live ID.

Windows Marketplace helps grow your business profitably from ideation to monetization by connecting you directly with millions of Windows Mobile users worldwide. To register for Windows Marketplace for Mobile, visit http://developer.windowsmobile.com. Independent software vendors and developers must pay an annual registration fee of $99 to participate in Windows Marketplace for Mobile. This fee applies to both paid and free apps.

Windows Marketplace for Mobile registration is four steps:

  1. Get a Windows Live™ ID.
  2. Sign the application provider agreement.
  3. Pick your account type & fill in your business information, such as tax identification numbers to establish your vendor account. For companies, this information should come from an authorized officer of your company. 
  4. Pay annual subscription fee of $99 (plus taxes, if applicable). DreamSpark students register for free.
