Microsoft includes a set of certificates (and private keys) in the Windows Mobile SDK for the development purpose. These certificates are in SdkCerts.cab (Certs.cab in WM 6.0 SDK) in the tools directory of windows mobile SDK. However, SdkCerts.cab includes privileged processes cannot be installed directly onto the recently launched Sprint ACE by Samsung. Therefore any developer who wants to use Sprint ACE by Samsung for their development please download the enclosed zip file that contains developer certificates for ACE and the related documentation.

at any point does sprint and/or samsung intend on removing the two-tier application security from this device, or is it going to be something developers are going to have to work with.

i ask this because sprints other smartphone devices, the moto q and moto q9c lack this two-tier security yet the ACE has it, which complicates things to an extent.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Sprint is planning on a maintenance release that changes the Sprint ACE by Samsungs security model from two-tier to one-tier as like our other devices such as Motorola Q and Motorola Q9C. As of today, the maintenance release timeline is not finalized but when it is available, we will post the information via this forum.
