All, Over the next 30 days, Sprint will be performing nationwide roll out the OpenWeb solution. Currently, Sprint has approximately 40% of the national footprint covered. To exclude traffic not requiring the OpenWeb solution, WAP or mobile sites are being added to a list of registered mobile-friendly sites so that content download is not affected. Should a mobile-friendly site not already be included in the exclusion list, customers should post a request on this thread. All new requests will be attended in the order they are received and according to priorities. To enhance the customer experience further and eliminate delays, Sprint will automate this exclusion list in the next 30 to 60 days with enhancements to the OpenWeb platform. Additional recommendations found in the document @ https://developer.sprint.com/getDocument.do?docId= 98354 include: 1. Do not use user-agent values for already known browsers in your applications 2. Use well-known prefixes, e.g. wap.*, or TLDs, e.g. *.mobi, for mobile sites 3. Offer mobile content description files through HTTP GET mechanisms 4. Rely on well-known file extensions to describe mobile content, e.g. JAD/JAR, etc. 5. If in doubt, register your high-volume mobile web-site with Sprint Nextel 6.
