What is Sprint Virtual Developer Lab powered by DeviceAnywhere?
Sprint has partnered with DeviceAnywhere to provide the Sprint Virtual Developer Lab, powered by DeviceAnywhere. This innovative service offers real-time, virtual access to all Sprint devices connected to all Sprint’s networks, including CDMA and iDEN. You can interact with these handsets exactly like you would if you physically had them in the palm of your hands.

How does it benefit me as a developer?
DeviceAnywhere gives you full control over live handsets through a convenient desktop interface. Development features include a device reservation system with a multi-user environment, playback controls to quickly reproduce problems from the device as well as a feature which permits users to export .jpeg and .mov files of every pixel and every frame. All exported items (frames, framesets, and movies) can be shared with other subscribers and even non-subscribers through built-in collaborative features. DeviceAnywhere makes it possible for local and foreign content providers to access devices remotely on the Sprint CDMA and iDEN networks.

What do you need?
All you need is a standard Internet connection and a browser.

As a member of the Sprint Application Developer Program, you get 5 free hours of usage on your first months subscription of the Sprint Virtual Developer Lab package powered by DeviceAnywhere. DeviceAnywhere subscriptions contain two components: access to groups of devices, called "Packages", and hourly fees for the time spent on handsets "Hours". Effective April 1st, 2008 we will simplify our Packages and Hours subscription structure, as follows:

Device Package subscription changes. All device packages will be $100 (including the first package which was formerly $200), and will include no monthly hours. Hours will be purchased separately.

Hourly subscription changes. The following new Hourly rates will apply for the different hourly levels:

10 hours/month

$160

$16/hr

30 hours/month

$450

$15/hr

50 hours/month

$700

$14/hr

100 hours/month

$1300

$13/hr

In addition, Overage rates (hourly rates applied to time spent on devices in excess of your monthly subscriptions hours), will no longer apply. Any additional hours used in excess of your monthly subscription will be charged at your same hourly rate. So for example, if you have elected the 30 hour plan above, at $450/month (or $15/hr), any hours used in excess of 30 within a given month will continue to be billed at the $15/hour rate, regardless of the number of hours used. You will always know what your hourly rate is, and it will never change (until you elect a different hourly plan). For additional price plan, billing or package information please visit the DeviceAnywhere website.
