Naming Conventions
To begin with an example, the image or song "Sprint Vision" / "Sprint Rocks" for the A500 by Samsung would be named:
Screensavers / Ringers
img-prod-sprintvision-v1.png (or *.jpg) / ring-prod-sprintrocks-v1.mid (or *.qcp or *.m4a)
- The entire filename should be in lowercase with no spaces.
- The prefixes "img" / "ring" and "prod" will apply to the actual image (PNG or JPEG / MIDI, QCELP, AAC, or MP4) file.
- When using animated screensavers (CMX) / animated ringers (CMX), the naming scheme for the image file is the same except the file extension would be PMD vs. PNG / MID or QCP.
- The prefixes "img" / "ring" and "prev" will apply to the preview (GIF or SWF / MP3 or SWF) file.
- When using animated screensavers (CMX), the naming scheme for the preview file is the same except the file extension would be SWF or GIF.
- The actual name of the screensaver / song is run together as one word, with no spaces or special characters, all in lowercase.
- For all static ringers (MIDI, QCELP, AAC), only one ringer file is needed (vs. one for each device).
- Only one preview file (GIF or SWF / MP3 or SWF) is needed for each image / ringer.
- Specifications for the preview files are as follows:
- GIF images should be 8-bit color, 80W x 80H
- MP3 files should be approximately 96 kbps bit rate and 30 seconds long
