Testing

The Sprint Technology Integration Center (STIC) Laboratory has developed a web-based tool that will enable you to quickly test your files on a Sprint Vision device. Using this tool will help you perform internal testing and quality assurance of your files before you submit them to Sprint for publishing. To download, install, and test your Ringers, Screen Savers and/or Animated Content, please click on the appropriate link below.

Here are the steps to use this tool:

1. Enter the 10-digit phone number (no dashes) of your Vision phone in the "Input Your Phone Number" section.
2. This tool no longer separates content type (this is done at the back-end): You can zip a number of files or send one file at a time
3. Click the "Browse" button in the appropriate section and select the file you want to download to your phone.
4. Click the "Send" button, and in a few moments the tool will send your phone an SMS message with an embedded URL to the file you just uploaded.
5. Once you receive the SMS notification to your phone, open the message and use the softkey menu to "Go" to the embedded URL.
6. The browser will challenge the download because you're downloading content from domain other than Sprint's Vending Machine. Select "Continue" to begin the file download.
7. You can then download the file directly to your phone and play it (one file at a time).
8. If you are uploading a zip file, all steps remain the same, except you will navigate to the files within a directory for download after receiving the SMS.
9. Keep the filename short for testing. Currently the nature of the tool lends itself to errors if the filename is too long. This is being addressed.
