The 4G WiMAX Innovation Network

Overview

This is not a commercially launched network. The 4G WiMAX Innovation network is a special program for professional mobile Internet application, service, and content developers who live or work in Silicon Valley. This program provides early access to the Bay area's pre-commercial 4G WiMAX network for the duration of the program. Participants will also have access to special events and developer resources. The program’s duration is September 2009 through late 2010. New applications for access to this network are now closed.

The 4G mobile application focus:

  • Intersection of high bandwidth + mobility
  • Targeted applications: video, LBS, on-line gaming, social networking, M2M, SMB

Easier Access: 4G Innovation Network in Silicon Valley

Sprint ADP is pleased to announce that recent network upgrades are now making it easier than ever to access and develop on the Innovation Network. You can now access the Innovation Network using any Sprint 4G device including the U300 and U301 mobile broadband cards, Sprint Overdrive and HTC EVO 4G. In addition, you can now use the latest version of the connection manager software for those devices.

The latest version of the connection manager software is available for download at http://www.sprint.com/downloads. The U300 specific page for downloads is at http://shop.sprint.com/en/software_downloads/mobile_broadband/sprint_u300.shtml

Conversion is underway, so please download the latest version as soon as possible to ensure your service is not interrupted.

We are continuing to offer existing-registered users free access to the Innovation Network. However, the free service will end later this year when we launch the Sprint 4G Network in the San Francisco area. At that time you will need to migrate to a commercial plan such as the 3G/4G Mobile Broadband Connection Plan. This plan offers unlimited 4G usage. Please note, these plans could change prior to the 4G launch in the San Francisco area. Please refer to the service plans page on the Sprint web site for details.

If you have any question about this message, please contact us at SprintADP@sprint.com. Do NOT contact Customer Care, as they will not be able to support you given the pre-commercial nature of the Innovation Network
