At Sprint, our goal is to provide developers access to the enabling capabilities necessary for success in creating a solution that meets your needs.

Developer needs may vary from creating an enterprise application that improves productivity, to developing the next social networking phenomenon or just trying to implement an idea drawn on the back of a napkin.

To deliver on Sprint’s vision of enabling developers, our strategies align with eight core principles of 'Open':

  1. Be the easiest to do business with
  2. Be the developer's "Garage" where new innovation happens
  3. Deflect and redirect care/support/help. Create a sustainable cost neutral (or better) ecosystem
  4. Mimic the proven Open Internet (online/PC) mode
  5. Let the market determine the winners
  6. Separate the service from the device
  7. Scale is a "must have". Do not fragment
  8. Open does NOT = Free or No Control

Applications

Through the Sprint Developer Program, our goal is pretty simple:

  • Give the developer the access to the information needed (ex: Device Specifications, Mobile Software Specs, etc)
  • Provide developer with access to enabling capabilities (ex: Sprint Developer Sandbox, Mobile Software APIs, Service Enablers)
  • Have a clear path to market for distribution/leveraging mobile content (app markets, SMS Aggregators, etc)
  • Enable developer with support required for developer’s particular needs (community vs Sprint specific engagement)
