| re: Instinct OPEN GPS via JSR179 |
Mike R,
While parts of this code is similar to previous post about how to use Autonomous GPS, the code I posted above specifically will use Assisted-GPS (AKA: MS-based) without any special requirements to setup a PDE value or prime the device by running Nav first. sweetgreggo,
Thank you for your feedback, we are happy to announce that the Instinct s30 already has planned and has started though test cycles on additional OPEN features coming in the first MR. I too have had the same experiences with jsr179 on the instinct and would like to see something working here. Firmware updates keep rolling out but still nothing. I would think this is a higher priority Cr than making the buttons blink for sms. |

| Location API access on Sprint devices |
Hi,
We have been trying to run GPS application on the Sprint devices, wherein the devices are enabled with developer certificate.
1) Midlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.location.Location has been set
2)The application uses JSR179 and is signed using the Sprint WTK3.3.2
However still the application is unable to get the location provider instance. The following exception is thrown: misisng security permission: com.sprintpcs.util.location.msbased
The devices we tried are LGLX270 and LX 3 |
