| Landscape Mode ?? |
Hi! I'm developing a java game, a huge java game! but i'm wondering if Samsung M800 or any instinct can load my application as LANDSCAPE MODE.
Because the only way to ROTATE the canvas on my game is creating a buffer, getting all the graphics and paint it with a drawregion and the flag Sprite.TRANS_ROT90 but the main problem is that Samsung M800 consumes a lot of process with drawregion and my game runs very slow.
Exist a way to rotate the canvas without using drawregion? |

| Important News on Releases/Upcoming Software |
This posting shares two key things - 1: what was actually included in the latest software release 2: Planned scope of the next software release (which is currently scoped to included LCDUI support !!!!!) - Please note, this software release is scheduled to enter in certification on Oct 13 and we currently don't have an exit/launch date for the MR as it depends upon how well the testing/certification goes.
Thanks for being patient as we work on making these upgrades happen

| re: Samsung Instinct Software Update |
Thanks for the info. The rendering speed improvement is great as this has been the biggest problem with the browser in my opinion. It's a shame to have good network speeds crippled by slow page rendering. |

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for providing this update. Based on what you said, I am guessing that the LCDUI implementation thing might be dependent on the supplier of JVM for instinct (Qualcomm?).
I also understand that SIWL is really nice.
But here is the issue. My Sprint Instinct browser crashes on numerous sites and a large number of other Instinct users (forums are full of frustrated posts) are experiencing the same issue. I don't even use it anymore because it is too slow to render web pages |

| re: Instinct processor speed? |
i suppose that is true, in fact its very very true. so what i believe is somewhat implied by that statement is that the VM is not optimized for the processor and hardware on the instinct and maybe that the heap is small too. i mean i dont think this has too fast a processor, and ive been saying in many forums exactly what this sprint person is saying, which is that if the browser was properly optimized and set up better for this phone, it would be lightning fast and we wouldnt be asking about th |
